This community on Okanagan Lake's eastern coast is often regarded as the "birthplace of winemaking in British Columbia" because to its abundance of wineries (more than 40). The region's five individual wine paths, exceptional dining options, and stunning vistas of the surrounding vineyards are the primary draws, but there is also much to do for the more energetic traveller.
There are 19 golf courses, several water drift hunters sports, miles of biking and hiking trails (including the stunning Myra Canyon Trestles), and more.
Okanagan Lake and its numerous secluded neighbourhoods are the region's crowning glory. Sarah Johnston, an agent with Cir Realty, Luxury Portfolio International, said, "Luxury lake-access homes can be found around every cove, from McKinley Beach and the new homes with private dock access to Okanagan Landing with the glorious Paddlewheel Park, Lake Country, and the beginning of wine country, and down to Peachland and Summerland with their amazing community vibes." She went on to say that many Okanagan Valley mansions cost more than $6 million Canadian dollars.
