Red Beach is located at the southern coast of Santorini, south of the village of Akrotiri. Red beach is one of the most beautiful and most famous beaches of the island. It is named for the iron-rich rocks in the cliff face towering over the beach above you, as well its the red sand. It has a small beach area, and due to its popularity, it can be quite crowded in the umbrella beach summer season. It is an unorganized beach, with no cantinas or refreshments offered on the beach. There is a small cantina near the parking area, where you should buy anything you will need. The first few meters of the water near the shore are gravel. Many distant yachts can be seen from the beach, and the view of the sunset is stunning. Visibility for snorkeling is good, but you will have to bring your own equipment.

White Beach is located at the southern coast of Santorini, south of the village of Akrotiri. White Beach is very similar to Red beach, with black pebbles on the shore, but the surrounding cliffs are white. It is only slightly organized, with a few sunbeds and umbrellas. The surrounding rocks do provide some natural shade. It is harder to reach than nearby Red Beach, and therefore more quiet. Bring any supplies you may need with you, as there is no place to purchase them on the beach.White Beach can only be reached by boat or by walking from Red Beach. Boats leave from Red Beach or from Akrotiri. There is no pier, so to reach the beach by boat you must walk through waist high water, but the experience will not disappoint.
